Two digital illustrations created for the 2022 Pokémon Trading Card Game Illustration Contest, a contest open to Japan and the United States where the goal was to depict a Pokémon in some aspect of its daily life. Out of the available options, I chose to draw Bulbasaur two different ways. The first is a happy Bulbasaur taking a rest on a log while it enjoys it's time in the woods. The second is an angry Bulbasaur in the middle of an intense battle.
The top 300 entries out of over 10,000 were announced and I did not make it through, but from looking at the entries that did make the cut, I learned the quality standards and what to aim towards creating if the contest is held again next year.
