Logo design for the Johnstown Historical Society in Johnstown, NY. Over the past few months, I met with and talked extensively with members of the historical society to determine exactly the type of logo design they were looking for, and to gain some very interesting background information on what the society does in the Johnstown community. A large focus of this logo is the three main buildings they preserve; the James Burke Inn, Historical Society Museum, and Drumm House. A badge-style logo was chosen to highlight these three buildings, and while they wanted to use these two brown and gold colors to match the style of the branding that already exists, a big topic of discussion at our meetings was how to use color to make the three buildings distinct. Solid black and white versions were also created to give the logo a wide variety of uses, and mock-ups of how the logo would look on Facebook and embroidered polo shirts were created as part of a presentation I gave on different possible color options.
